I recently saw the new break-the-bank blockbuster Avatar in theatres and it was breathtaking to see how Hollywood has the ability to create such a cinematic adventure from a rectangular box. I am not a huge fan of fantasy films, but when I heard the buzz about the quality and thrill of Avatar, I thought maybe there was something different about this one. After throwing on my 3-D Kanye West-style shades, from the first scene, I knew I was in for a completely new and vibrant visual experience. After about 2 hours of eccentric perceptive displays, objects seemingly whizzing over my head, and free falling out of the sky on planet Pandora, I said to myself, “Wow, this would be really cool if this environment could be reproduced in a home entertainment system.”
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), currently in full operation, showcases many of the new, futuristic home entertainment products. Technological goliath, Samsung, once again was able to provide that “wow factor” with its ultra-slim-as-a-pencil (that would be a great name for it) LED TV. The Samsung HDTV LED 9000, is as thin as a pencil, includes a 3D processor, 240 MHz refresh rate, and is accompanied by a remote control that looks like an iPhone. Not to mention, it is much more energy efficient than plasmas and LCDs. It will be available for purchase in 2010.
The complete 3D system includes: 3-D compatible HDTV, 3D enhanced home theater system, 3D blu-ray player, active shutter 3D glasses and 3D content.
Maybe they will come out with designer 3D glasses (I’m thinking RayBan Aviators while I watch Top Gun)?
Will be available here when released for purchase
