Got Rebates?

So, the government is offering all kinds of rebates. I hear this everyday, “The utility companies are giving incentive programs and tax credits for environmental initiatives, changing your light bulbs, home renovations etc. etc.”  Ok, so where do I find these rebates? And how do I complete them? Are these rebates like the ones that you see on the top of yogurt covers (where it will take me 6 months to a year to receive 50 cents back)? If the “green rebate” process was better understood and detached from the negative stigmas introduced by other lengthy and inefficient rebates applications, more companies and individuals would be willing to make a gradual shift toward sustainability practices.

There is a need for education and research when it comes to identifying and completing efficiency rebate applications. One company, Kuuala, has provided a user-friendly portfolio of direct links to rebate applications for the U.S and Canada. The direct links allow rebate seekers to view the actual application so they don’t have to sort through a website to try and find an application. In addition, Kuuala has rebate account managers that provide the service (on the house) of actually completing the rebate application for you. Here are the steps to completing a rebate application (from a Kuuala Account Manager)…but don’t worry, the folks at Kuuala will do this all for you:

Completing a Rebate Application

1)     Locate Your Utility Company (PG&E, etc.)

2)     Make sure Utility Company participates with Rebate Provider

3)     Compile product invoices from the project

4)     Fill out rebate application form and mail in with invoices

Kuuala will complete these steps for you and mail you the rebate check. So, whether you have future plans, are currently working on, or have already completed a project, give one of the Kuualars a call (or chat online) and have them do the work for you. Because who doesn’t want a check for a couple hundred dollars?
